The mural is composed of two glazed stoneware tiles using the cuerda seca technique.
"Why do cow skulls always make me think of the Southwest? Other places have cows too I think. Of course the desert just needed a decayed mascot to match its landscape. I almost have the big three now: cactus, skull, and sunset. One more and I'm officially a Southwest artist."
